SURF
I moved to Jax for surf. Technically it was for school, but it was the only college on the east coast of Florida close enough to the beach to surf.
During my time at UNF I was regularly skipping class to get in the water, and during those times I came across Adam King. Whenever possible, we would link up to try and get unique shots. Adam’s photography ended up getting me on the cover of Pacific Longboarder Magazine, a double spread in Surfer Magazine, and a spot hanging in the captains quarters of the HMS Queen Victoria aircraft carrier.
Those ideas and his photography shaped my surf career, and put me into places I never would have thought a normal guy from Orlando would be.

1982 SPECIALIZED STUMPJUMPER
My ultimate-defeat-everything-do-it-all Dad Bike. Originally most of these parts were meant for the Emory cruiser, but due to a frame defect and FB Marketplace timing, they found a new home here. Probably for the better.
Frame was slightly rusted in a bunch of places, and the fork was bent either in shipping or wreck by the previous owner. Bike was not in the best state so it was the perfect candidate to get a complete overhaul.

A gravel bike built for someone who tries to underbike too much. This bike is meant to be my forever gravel bike, but being realistic I’ll probably try to convert this thing to another build at some point.
My go-to bike for anything that involves longer time in the saddle, or putting on bike specific apparel (spandex).

Wouldnt be a Jax local if I didn’t have a beach cruiser. Emory has been making manufacturing bikes here locally in Jacksonville since the 70s. A little piece of history, this bike was built for comfort and neighborhood cruises with the little man.
